At Mortdale Public school we teach the following key Leaerning Area subjects
- English-Students strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills through engaging lessons and activities that encourage a love of language.
- Mathematics-Our learners engage with number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability, developing problem-solving skills and applying mathematical reasoning in real-world contexts.
- Science and Technology-Students explore the world around them by asking questions, doing hands-on experiments, and using technology to solve problems creatively.
- Human Society and its Environment-We learn about history, geography, and cultures, helping our students understand their place in both the local and global community.
- Personal Development, Health and Physical Education-Classes focus on developing lifelong skills in movement, health, wellbeing, and safety, promoting positive relationships and resilience.
- Creative Arts-Students express themselves through music, visual arts, drama and dance, developing creativity and an enjoyment of the arts.

At our school, students can take part in special religious education (SRE) or special education in ethics (SEE) classes, depending on what’s available. These classes are delivered by approved providers on Thursday morning.
When enrolling your child, you’ll be able to choose an option from the approved providers offered at our school (currently, we offer Catholic, Combined Christian, Orthodox, Islam and Ethics classes). Students not attending SRE or SEE are given supervised alternative meaningful activities.
You’re welcome to change your choice at any time. Just let us know in writing or use the online form (if available at our school).
