Attendance

Consistent attendance is essential for unlocking every student’s full potential at Mortdale Public School. Being present every day means more learning opportunities, stronger friendships, and a greater sense of belonging. When students attend regularly, they build confidence, stay engaged with their peers and teachers, and develop habits that set them up for lifelong success. Every day counts in creating a positive and thriving school community.

What should I do if my child is running late?

Students should arrive on time every day.
Any student arriving after the 8:55am bell must be accompanied by a parent or carer to the front office to sign in.
If your child is unwell or unable to attend, please notify the school and provide the reason for their absence through School Bytes

What should I do if my child needs to leave early?

If you need to collect your child early from school, please notify the front office via phone, email or in person so that your child is waiting for you when you arrive. You will be required to attend the front office to have your child signed out.

Please note that only parents or carers are permitted to collect their own child from school early. If you wish to nominate another person, the school must be notified in advance. The nominated person must present identification to office staff when collecting your child.

Whenever possible, please schedule appointments outside of school hours, though we understand this is not always feasible.
