Mortdale Public School hosts a support unit for the Sydney region. It comprises three classes: one class for students experiencing difficulties in reading and two classes for students with a diagnosed language disability. Admission to all three classes is by referral from local schools or preschools. The referral process is rigorous and involves panel decision-making, consultation and accountability.
Students in the reading class attend the unit every day from 9:30am until 1pm, for one term only.
Students accepted into our language classes are enrolled in Mortdale Public School and attend full-time for one year.
Placement in all support unit classes is reviewed regularly.
